Kai is 9 years old

I can't believe that our sweet boy is 9 tomorrow. Tonight we celebrated (NOT AT MY HOUSE!)

at Zeek's Pizza with (of course) Alex and Maya...Nonni, Grandpa, Baba, Dearda, Brian, Jennie, Jameson, Kevin and Sherry. This begins my month long focus on the reasons we love Washington. #1: We get to be around so much of our family (including all of our living Grandparents!!!) Only a few of our relatives do not live in Washington: Alex's sister and her family and My brother Jay. Both of which we get to visit with several times a year. (Our niece Sarah comes to stay with us for 3 weeks each summer and we go visit my brother Jay every year...and he usually comes here for Christmas and sometimes our Family Reunion.)

Anyway, back to Kai....right about now, 9 years ago my water was breaking. What a great experience his birth was. Believe it or not, it was a really fun night. And now, I am the mom of a "tween".
